Like the leaves of fall, you'll be blown away!
As the summer temperatures slowly begin to fall, you may be thinking that the opportunity to buy and install a swimming pool has passed you by. But when you consider that autumn is the best time to buy a house, car and boat, you may be wondering…
“Is autumn the best time to buy and install a pool?”
The answer is a resounding YES!
Now, I know what you may be thinking…
“But why would I buy and install a pool in the fall if I won’t be able to swim in it for another 3-6 months?!”
I’m glad you asked.
Here are 3 reasons why autumn is the best time to buy and install a pool:
- Price Increases in 2020: Most pool manufacturers, retailers and installers tend to increase their prices at the beginning of the new year. If you’re wondering why, they’re following the lead of their suppliers who increase their cost of goods on an annual basis. If you’re considering a deck to complement your swimming pool, and/or a fence to keep rascals and pets from gaining access to your swimming pool, fall is also the best time to save money on a deck and fence for the same reason. Now when you consider that our pools have been known to last 25 – 35 years, imagine how much a pool would cost you in the year 2050!
- Your Soil is at its Best in the Fall: If you’re interested in an Above Ground or Inground Pool, then you’ll want to have your new pool installed in the fall because of the soil’s moisture level or lack thereof. Dry soil will keep pool installation time down to a minimum, which may also save you money on labor fees. When installing in the spring, you may have to wait weeks or months for snow melt or rains to stop before being able to install. If excavation equipment needs to drive over your lawn to get to the installation site, your landscaping will not suffer as much as it would if the soil was wet, like in the spring or summer. With that in mind, your landscaping will need some attention due to wear and tear from excavation and installation. When you consider that it takes 4 to 6 months for grass to regrow and landscaping to settle, autumn is the best time to plant new grass seed, trees, and flower bulbs.
- Most People Buy in the Spring and Summer: This is good for you because some pool companies and installation crews [not us] will be overwhelmed and will feel scrambled by tight timelines. As you know, a swimming pool is a significant investment, and you don’t want your unique needs and service requests to be ignored or rushed because hundreds of other customers are getting a pool at the same time. While you may not have the opportunity to swim in your new pool after a fall installation, you will be the first to enjoy your pool in the spring!
